Massimiano Bucchi teaches Sociology and Communication Science at the University of Trento. He has authored many papers on the relation between science and society and has taught at several foreign universities including Sussex University, Universität Bielefeld, Polytechnic institute of Zurich, University of Wisconsin, Science Studies Unit of Edinburgh, University of Tokyo and Museu Da Vida Rio de Janeiro.
His primary focus is on public communication of science, representation of science and mass media technology and communication and public perception of risk.
He is a member of the Society for the Social Studies of Science and represents Italy in many international committees including the PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technology) Scientific Committee.
