For the best multimedia product oriented toward the world of education, the project "MicroArrays MediaBook", that describes the principles of genomics and the
technological and scientific effects of these new studies. The mediabook was produced by the Instructional Media Group of the Institute for Science Learning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a team of researchers, programmers, and graphic artists coordinated by Dr. A. Malcolm Campbell and Walter "Skip" E. Bollenbacher, who received the award.
Jury's Motivations
For the effectiveness with which it marries clarity and scientific rigor in a field as complex as genomics. It further represents a great example of how the worlds of science and multimedia communication can produce results that impact on students and non-scientists.
